Icelandic Volcano Scrub — Hanloé Workshop

Inspired by the volcanic landscapes of Iceland, this scrub combines mineral particles and gentle clay to eliminate dead cells, smooth micro-relief and revive luminosity — all while respecting the skin barrier.

Remember — Good exfoliation is neither abrasive nor daily: it is measured , regular and followed by hydration.

1. Why a mineral scrub?

Mineral scrubs use calibrated solid particles to gently lift away scales and smooth the surface. Well-formulated, they offer precise control and an immediate “new” skin feel.

  • Instant result : refined grain, velvety feel.
  • Control : pressure and time adjustable according to the zone.
  • Supplement with mild acids : ideal 1–2×/week.
Gentle mineral exfoliation
Controlled mechanical exfoliation: gesture, pressure, time.

2. Key assets & benefits

Kaolin (white clay)

Gently purifies, absorbs excess sebum, softens the touch without drying.

Calibrated volcanic sand

Fine and regular mechanical exfoliation for long-lasting smoothing without micro-scratches.

Glycerin & Pentylene Glycol

Humectants: attract water into the epidermis to maintain comfort after rinsing.

Caprylic/capric triglyceride & vegetable oils

Light emollients (including sunflower): silky glide, supple and non-greasy skin.

Berry extracts (blueberry, strawberry, cloudberry)

Provides antioxidants for a clearer complexion, protected from free radicals.

Vitamin E (tocopherol)

Lipid-protecting antioxidant, post-exfoliation comfort.

The Hanloé point. Effectiveness depends on the particle size + the emollient phase which limits friction and respects the barrier.

3. How to use it (face/body)

  • Face : Clean, damp skin. Take a small amount and massage for 30–45 seconds using very light circular motions , avoiding the eye area/lesions. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Body : Focus on rough areas (arms, elbows, knees). Rinse, then apply a body lotion/oil.
  • Frequency : 1 to 2×/week depending on sensitivity and season.
Results tip — Leave on for 2–3 minutes like a flash mask before massaging: even more radiance.

4. For whom? Recommended frequency

  • Normal to mixed : 2×/week.
  • Dry/sensitive : 1×/week, ultra-gentle pressure, followed by a barrier treatment.
  • Blemish-prone skin : 1x/week on non-inflamed areas. Avoid open spots.
  • Dull/smoking complexions : 2x/week to boost brightness.

5. Ideal before/after routine

Before

Gentle cleanser + warm water to soften the stratum corneum and facilitate mechanical action.

After

Hydrating mist (glycerin/aloe) → soothing serum/antioxidant → light cream. During the day, add an SPF .

Delicate areas

Eye and lip contour: do not exfoliate mechanically. Use very gentle acids if necessary.

Body

Finish with a silky milk or dry oil for supple, luminous skin.

FAQ — Your Frequently Asked Questions

Can it irritate?

Formulated with emollients and humectants , it limits friction. Adjust the pressure and frequency according to your skin.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes, provided you massage in very lightly and follow up with moisturizer. If redness persists: space out the uses.

Can it be combined with acids (AHA/PHA)?

Yes, but not on the same day for sensitive skin. Alternate between mechanical and chemical exfoliation to avoid over-exfoliation.

What about keratosis pilaris (arms)?

Interesting for maintenance 1–2×/week, followed by a urea/omega-based treatment for long-term smoothing.

Smooth skin, immediate radiance

Adopt controlled mineral exfoliation: calibrated particles + kaolin + emollient phase = effectiveness and comfort.
